It came out pretty good for your first attempt!
It looks like you took the original picture just for the sake of taking the picture, but as a tip, if you want to take a cosplay shot for the sake of photoshopping it into a picture like this, try taking it in front of a backdrop with a bright color (so long as no one is wearing the color in the shot!) It makes it much easier to select the people. C:
